Seniors Driver

Job Description

Position Title: Transportation-Quincie Douglas Center
Department: Seniors Program
Reports to: Seniors Coordinator
Salary: $9.75 per hour
Status: Full time (32 hours per week)/ Nonexempt

Position Overview: The Tucson Urban League is seeking a professional driver to provide transportation to senior citizens participating in the Seniors Breakfast and Lunch Program Monday-Friday 7am-3pm. The driver will be in charge of driving the vehicle as well as greeting clients and performing administrative tasks which include, but are not limited to, providing basic information and supports regarding program services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Tucson Urban League vans
  • Provided transportation for clients in a safe and courteous manner
  • Maintain vehicle checklist for scheduled maintenance
  • Record mileage and destinations accurately when driving vehicle
  • Clean vehicle on a daily basis
  • Maintain necessary program records
  • Report all incidence according to policies and procedures to Seniors Coordinator in a timely manner
  • Perform cleaning, maintenance registration of new clients, assisting in the kitchen and other assigned duties
  • Perform duties to assist clients in the Quincie Douglas center as needed and assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must show proof of valid Arizona Drivers License
  • Must have a history of a good driving record in the past two (2) years
  • Must work well with special needs populations, children, and senior citizens
  • Must have combination of training or experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position

Special Conditions:

  • Position is subject to availability of funding
  • Possession of a valid Arizona Drivers License upon employment with clean driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must provide Tucson urban League with a copy of driving record (i.e. the last 2 years)
  • Position requires ability to obtain level one fingerprint clearance card

Physical Requirements:

Speaking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, bending, and some lifting up to 25 pounds
